GENTING Highlands Resorts was voted the world’s leading casino resort at the World Travel Awards 12th Annual Ceremony 2005 in London on Sunday.
Genting Group chairman Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay said in a statement the award was a recognition of Genting’s excellent service and its ability to produce world-class integrated resorts that benefited tourism industries. “This is also a tribute to all the travel agents and our customers who have supported us throughout our 40 years, as well as our management and employees for delivering first-class service”.
Genting’s head of strategic investments Justin Leong said Genting was an integrated resort that offered not only casinos, but also entertainment, meeting places for business conventions, or simply a place to unwind from the hustle and bustle of city life.
The Genting Group has also cultivated other renowned global travel brands such as the award-winning Star Cruises and the Norwegian Cruise Line.
